Product Care
With regular care, your Stairbuilder staircase and balustrade can be enjoyed for years to come.
Before installation
Unless your Order Summary says otherwise, products are supplied unfinished or raw.
Apply a suitable paint or stain finish as soon as practical after installation.
Follow the finish manufacturer’s instructions.
Use a competent person to assemble and install your products.
Protect unfinished products from wet plaster, paint, cement, moisture and other wet building materials.
Timber with paint or stain finish
Wipe regularly with a soft cloth to remove dust and dirt.
Wipe up spills straight away with a damp cloth. Don’t leave liquid on the timber.
Protect the timber from heat, extreme changes in temperature or humidity, and direct or reflected sunlight.
Avoid cleaners and polishes, which may damage the finish or change the timber’s colour.
Take care with unglazed ceramics and furniture or appliances with rough or uneven bases, as they may scratch the timber.
Powder-coated metal
Wipe regularly with a soft, damp cloth.
Avoid abrasive cleaners.
Protect the metal from liquids, heat and direct sunlight.
Ongoing care
Maintain the finished staircase according to the finish manufacturer’s instructions. Protect it from excessive moisture, heat, sunlight and other conditions that may cause damage or deterioration.
